About the Shop We created Chicagoland Games: Dice Dojo with the goal to create a fun environment for Chicagoland gamers to enjoy their hobby. Gamers ourselves, we are dedicated to the gaming community and can offer a vast knowledge of all things related to gaming.
For the serious gamer, we offer the best variety of games in the Chicagoland area. Boasting eight large game tables, our guests can enjoy the game of their choice and can also compete in one of our many tournaments.
For the casual gamer or those new to gaming, we offer the largest library of demo games in Chicago. Playing demo games is always free and you can enjoy playing them in-store for as long as you like. We recommend checking out our Free Board Games Night, held every Wednesday starting at 6:00pm.
About the Owners
Jon-Paul originally hails from upstate New York, a place he quickly escaped from prior to settling in Chicago to study screenwriting at Columbia College. Not satisfied with just picking apart movie plots he founded Chicagoland Games and now picks apart games. In the past Jon-Paul has nabbed honors for screenplays which translated well into running RPG events. Even with the success in Chicago, Innsmouth, his original home still calls for him and even granted him a wife whom was gifted with great patience. Jon-Paul likes cats and games with a strong preference of both combined.
Lexx was born in Hawaii in the 1970's and is still wondering how he left the tropics. A life long game enthusiast and history buff he now spends his time pedaling games at the shop.
When not slaying dragons or indulging in Cthulhiana, Lexx lives with his long suffering wife Megan, and the true masters of the household his cats, Harley Quinn and Mr. J.
Community Involvement
We believe it is the responsibility of local business to play an active role in making their communities a better place to live, learn, work and play games. Since opening our doors in October 2008 we have upheld our commitment towards this goal. We have participated in positive loitering events in Edgewater to deter gang violence, hosted events in our shop for local schools and churches, and have donated items for fundraisers.
Additionally, we truely believe it is our mission to support the local gaming community. We support more gaming organizations than any other game store in Chicago. If you're a group organizer, we can provide you with a bright, clean, elegant game space to host your event, totally free. Give us a call or submit our Event Request Form to get started.
We hope to see you soon!
